If you are looking for something special, that no one is indifferent and that makes the decoration of your kitchen, look no further, the answer is the new Firebird 2.0 lighter.
In 1993, Guido Venturini, architect and designer, attended a design workshop to investigate the creative dimension of objects, their ability to inspire, intrigue and amuse people. Following the workshop, he created the Firebird, a gas lighter with a phallic-shaped in honor of fertility.
With an educated but explicit erotic allusion, it triggered, at the time, a lot of criticism among the more puritanical circles.
Over the years, Firebird has become a real pop icon and, when it went out of production, was obsessively searched by collectors, willing to invest considerable amounts of money to have it in their collections.
Almost 30 years after his creation, Alessi brand proposes a new edition: Firebird 2.0, an electric lighter that supplies enough heat to light a candle (even when the wick is very short), a gas cooker or a traditional fireplace. A version at the cutting-edge of technology, it is assumed as a quirky, fun and provocative object.
It recharges via a USB port, works without flammable liquid and does not create a real flame. Instead, it produces a small electric arc capable of generating the heat necessary to light things.
According to Guido Venturini, "the first edition experienced great success - with a few critics - and testosterone hasn't had a better ambassador since... All fire and flame, the Firebird carelessly takes a happy and creative direction, a worthy ancestor of Hermes, Shiva and all the homages paid to fertility by all the people of the world throughout the history of mankind."
This small domestic sculpture made of thermoplastic resin can, undoubtedly, be “the” highlight object in your kitchen. Surprise with an irreverent and bold piece.
